Do you guys have any room for one more truck? I have a (new to me!) 2006 Range Rover Sport that I really dont want to take out 4 wheeling but I do have a 2005 Nissan Xterra Offroad that is lifted with a Warn 9500 ti Winch on the front ARB bumber, and skid plates and sliders and rear Dana locker that can handle most offroading as I've taken it to Moab twice. I would like to join the group to go wheeling. Unless this is a Land Rover ONLY event? I will respect that if it is.

BTW. I met alot of you at the Inland Rovers parts swap bbq a couple of weeks ago when I brought my fiance and my gold RR Sport. Also Gordon has done a lot of work on my rig since that meet and greet and I am a member in good standing of SCLR...

My fiance and I would love to wheel and camp with the group this weekend...

Man the silence is deafening!

So let me get this straight.

Your a trip leader and the night before a run you don't check your own board? It's been over 24 hours since my first post.

Nor do you respond to my post? (You could have sent me a PM and said "Hey Mark we only want Rovers were too Xenophobic to allow outside rigs"...At least I could have handled the truth.)

So by this entire communities silence I'm not accepted even though I own a Range Rover Sport but my Xterra isn't good enough?

So everyone going wheeling doesn't want an Xterra? Nor do they check the board before a run?

Hey Mark. Sorry you're feeling bent out of shape. I can't speak for the club's policy on non-rovers but i think a time or two there's been a non-rover on the 8 to 10 runs I've done in the last 4 years. Anyway I think you're mistaking the silence for impoliteness. It's really that this isn't a super active board. Fits and spurts you know. I frequently don't check before a run because if sometshing's changed i get a pm from the trip leader. Not sure why i looked now....

Eric put in the calendar that he'd be in AB tonight so probably wasn't checking the board. He did put his cell number in the trip sheet though and seeing as it was less than 48 hours before the run when you made your first inquiry it might have been better to call him or email him directly. No way you could know that. I was the second to last to register in tHe calendar and i did that 2-3 weeks ago.

I don't know Eric very well but I'll stick my neck out and say he'd be happy to have you along especially since we're still under the 12 truck limit he wanted. I know i wouldn't mind. And i'm sure if its a club rule, and you'd understand a rover club wanting rovers, that an occasional exception is okay.

I don't know Mark. As far as I know Eric left earlier this morning to head out to the campsite. He may not have had a chance to check the forum/email. I don't know how many vehicles are going on the trip. Eleven or twelve vehicles was the maximum, according to the calendar there are 11 people/vehicles registered. I think one or two people registered on the thread here. I don't know what to tell you man, you'd have to check with Eric and see if there is a spot.

You could always drive out there in the morning and see what happens. We can figure something out.

Guess it was 11, not 12.

I apologize for getting bent out of shape. I just assumed that with no one responding that I wasn't welcome. In light of the fact that the trip leader already camping, and I respect it's his run, we will take a pass. I don't want to impose and have people surprised if we were to show up.

Maybe I'll take another stab at this on another run and hopefully it won't be a problem.
