I'm trying to gauge possible interest in a Death Valley trip on Friday 3rd March, Sat4th and Sunday 5th.

Route would be:

Fri: Starting in Ridgecrest, through Trona, over the Escape Trail into Panamint Valley, up Goler Wash to the Manson cabin, up and over Mengel Pass to the cabins, then via Butte Valley to overnight at Furnace Creek Ranch.

Sat: Head up to Inyo Mine, over Echo Pass, down the other side past Lees Camp to overnight in Beatty.

Sun: Head through Titus Canyon, then down to Chloride City and then head back home that afternoon.

All generally easy to moderate, with a couple of challenging sections on Fri and Sat.

Please note: I'm limiting this to 8 vehicles max. These are long days, especially Friday. More than 8 is going to make the going slow and we will not cover the ground we need to.

if you are interested, reply in this thread. I have reserved 2 rooms at Furnace Ranch just to have somewhere to stay. There are only 4 rooms left for the night of 3 March, so if you are interested, call them right away and book a room. We can do 2 people per room if needed (2 queen beds per). I will look at rooms in Beatty for Sat night and add options to this thread.

If there is interest, I will do a proper posting with more specifics on the route.

Thanks, AH.

Death Valley is always a good idea. I would definitely be joining you, worst case on Fri night at Furnace Creek if I was unable to get that Friday off work - but I am pretty sure I could do Friday as well. Only problem right now, Furnace Creek is apparently sold out for 3/3. No rooms left (I just called), and the campground is full, as well. They must have some big event or something during that weekend.
