Hey everyone!
I'm brand new to the SCLR and very much look forward to meeting up with you all in the not too distant future somewhere out in the desert. My fiance and I recently picked up a Range Rover Sport and can't wait to see what it can do (though from all the photos, maybe we should have gotten an LR3 for off-road prowess?) The RR is completely stock, and it's wheels are way to pretty/shiny to take off-road. So, before I venture out into the sand and get a couple of flats trying to reach you guys, I figure the first thing to do is outfit it with some more capable shoes. Any recommendations of shops in the San Diego area for the basic essentials for off-roading? Obviously, I'm pretty new to this, but really don't want this vehicle only going to and from Whole Foods. It really needs some dirt on it.
Any help would be appreciated, and thanks!
Gavin
Welcome! Don't let new shoes keep you from the new member run next month. You will be ok with stock tires.
As for getting outfitted with new wheels there is not much of an offroad wheel aftermarket for newer LL/RRS. If you have stock 18" rims you are ok and you can search for spares on Ebay, they come up from time to time, sometimes in full sets if you have if you need all 4. You can find some 19" tires but the list is much shorter.
Other gear most of us get from all over the place once you start to figure out what you need for what you plan to do. But you will see soon that it never ends once hooked and you can always find something else you need.
The best way is to get out on the trail with us and you will have many mentors.

I did check out the Compomotive site, and have been in contact with them. Either way, I do plan on making it to the new member run next month, and I'm sure I'll have many more questions then.
