Hey guys…MOST of you know me as Coy’s BETTER half OR as the “chic with the bird and the dog”… for those of who do not know me …allow me to introduce myself!!!I am Coy Glasscock’s MUCH better half AND most important a dedicated female “Gear Head” since birth …also a dedicated Land Rover/ British Leyland fan since I was old enough to see above the steering wheel… my first vehicle was my beloved(abeit temperamental) MGB complete with Weber Carburetor , Smith Gauges and *clears throat* Lucas Electronics...

Originally raised as an only child by my Dad…grew up learning how to pop a clutch, turn over a breather cap and turn on the heater to pull the heat off of an overheated (racing perhaps? thermostat, radiator, etc) engine, before I learned to cook! I ended up as an attorney and was later joined by my half sister (23) is in medical school at the moment...so I guess we turned out OK! I have lived on a boat, a barge, the Bayou, a Castle and now on the Coast! Although I love horses, boats, animals, and virtually any outdoor activity …my first love is British Motor Cars!

That being said, I did push my first car as much as I drove it!...next came my MGB, MG Midget and in college I had a racing edition Triumph Spitfire 1500 from the last year they were offered in the States...At 17 , I did almost all of the bodywork and interior restoration including sanding and refinishing all woodwork with marine varnish. I was briefly disloyal to the Brits with my BMW 735i but soon returned with my XK convertible... Antracte/Onyx with Burlwood interior and custom carpet...current mods include my own (Coy helped) custom install (fabricated faceplate from basswood) of the Alpine IVA-D106 Touch Screen Navigation, Bluetooth, USB Port, and Sirius/XM.... external Navigation Box fit perfectly to replace factory CD Changer in the trunk slot and USB port made changer obsolete anyway...Can now load 32G or more onto thumb drive for road trips or stream music from my phone via Bluetooth or IPOD ! Also layered DynaMat under carpet, 2 MB Quart, and 2 Focal speakers to the factory Harmon Karden system...and can still easily reach 150+...including the extra weight!

Current modifications to the D3 Rover (second after the black D2) include the European Discovery III Dealer Emblem...3' lift...Garmin/Kenwood Touch Screen Navigation, Bluetooth, USB Port, and Sirius/XM...SAFARIGARD.COM Rock Sliders, Skid Plates, Fuel Tank Skid,Engine Compartment Air Compressor, Washer Fluid Relocated, SAFARIGARD.COM Front Bumper with Superwinch and Baja Designs HID’s (for the 405 traffic...), OFFROVING.COM/Overland Accessories 2 story popup rooftop tent, suspension, tire (Goodyear Duratrack 275 65 R18) , compressor bracket and cover, struts, exhaust upgrades AND coming soon… Safari Gard Rear Bumper???

Other volunteer activities, to include Therapy Animals International, Humane Society, Med Camps, Docent Council, Orange County Museum of Art, CalGuns.net,and continuing volunteer for Newport Beach Film Festival as well as OC event coordination for Luxury4Play.com. See CV & Bio links below for more information ...

While the majority of my "off road" experiences were orginally confined to my family's properties in North Louisiana and East Texas...I was formally introduced and enjoyed off roading as a “sport” after moving to Austin TX in 1999 during which time Coy had completed the build of a heavily modified Jeep CJ …Later after our second Discovery (AKA LR3 …well equipped with aftermarket parts and accessories) I completely relaxed and fell in love with “Off Roving” I always KNEW that “life begins at pavements end” but before “Discovery” had traveled those roads via horseback, backpack or mountain bike…

****NOW to update everyone on the important stuff… As an "official as of this year" member of the BOD …here is what I am working on… Retuning Sponsors include Adam Spiker (OffRoving.com and OE Accessories)along with Amir Javadi (Sherman Oaks Exclusive)...NEW Sponsor for 2010 is Ben Cannon (Cannon Enterprises, LLC) of GUNpal.com in the Bay Area ...***A close friend of mine that I hope to include on ***

NOTE****LETS REMEMBER TO UTILIZE OUR SPONSORS FIRST FOR OUR NEEDS...WHEN AT ALL POSSIBLE****

NEW T SHIRTS have been ordered and will be mailed out along with your decals to all new and renewing members as soon as they arrive! If I have any questions regarding your size or address information (that are not answered from my 2007-8 .xls files) I may contact you individually. I am currently in the process of setting up our club accounting system (Quickbooks Online IF it works out) and assisting in our planning for RR2kx ...will keep everyone updated as I progress…We have the date (July 16*17*18) and venue (Big Bear*Heart Bar*Skyline Loop) for the event secured and welcome any volunteers who want to assist in either the planning or in leading a trail run…

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have reagrding any club related issue…

Hey everyone,my name is Patrick and I just joined SCLR today. I have a G4 discovery and live in Westlake Village. Even though I am moving up to Oregon for school in the fall, I am really looking forward to being active over the summer. My G4 has a winch, 2"ome lift, KMC beadlock wheels and other stuff and things. The places I usually go off roading are usually Pismo or Rowher Flatts off the 14.
