DESCRIPTION: Via the “Backroad to Big Bear” (Burns Canyon/2N02/2N01), a climbing, and well traveled, scenic trail that begins five miles from Pioneertown and ends 10 miles from Big Bear. This is an afternoon trip of approximately 19 miles that takes about two hours to complete and is suitable for all Rovers. Pioneertown was created as a Hollywood movie location and includes shops, two locations for food,  and is a nice destination of its own. HOWEVER, there is no gas available in Pioneertown.

Intersection of Forest Road 2N01 and CA-38 (two miles north of Onyx Summit). This location is 10 miles from Big Bear or 41 miles from Redlands.
