Details:
Day 1: Meet a the Trona Shell Station at 9:30 AM fueled and ready to go. Please arrive on time, since we have a long day ahead of us. We will have a short driver’s briefing and promptly depart at 10:00 AM. Today’s route is along Goler Wash/Mengel Pass, Butte Valley, Badwater Road and ending at Furnace Creek where we will be spending the night. I recommend making reservations well in advance. There are several campgrounds as well as the Furnace Creek Inn. Today’s sights/stops will include, depending to time and pace, Ballarat, Baker Ranch, Russell Camp, Grantham Mine, Ashford Mills Ruin, Badwater Basin, and the Natural Bridge. The total distance for the day is 149 miles. Fuel is available in Furnace Creek.
Day 2: Meet at the Furnace Creek Visitor Center fueled and ready to go at 10:00 AM. You can purchase the required park pass at the visitor center, which you will need for the trip. Today’s route will be along Beatty Road, Daylight Pass Road, and Chloride Cliff Road, and Hwy 95 ending in Beatty, NV where we will be spending the night. I recommend making reservations well in advance. There are lodging options in Beatty. Today’s sights/stops include the Keane Wonder Mills, Hells Gate, Chloride City and Chloride Cliff. Total distance for the day is 59 miles.
Day 3: Meet at the Beatty Baptist Church (1501 NV-374, Beatty, NV 89003) fueled and ready to go at 8:00 AM. Today’s route is south on Hwy 374 and ending at Furnace Creek. Today’s sights/stops include Rhyolite Ghost Town, Titus Canyon Road, and Leadfield Ghost Town. Total distance for the day is 68 miles.
