Saturday October 18th we're going to run Lockwood / Miller Jeep Trail. It's been at least 4 years since we've had an organized club run up this trail so its due time..

The plan is to meet at the Flying J Travel Center off the 5 at 10:00 AM. It's about a half hour drive from Flying J to the trail head. Here's a link to a google map showing the route to the trail head: https://goo.gl/maps/7kEKF  . We'll give everyone a few minutes to get to meeting spot and head off for the trail head. After we get to the trail head we'll air down and get everyones radios set up then head up the trail.

Depending on the amount of people on the trip and traffic on the trail should take around 3.5 hours total from top to bottom. We should finish the Lockwood portion of the trail around noon give or take. We'll stop there for lunch and then head up Miller Jeep Trail. At the end of Miller Jeep Trail we end up at the top of alamo mountain. We'll head down fire roads out through Hungry Valley SVRA back towards the 5.

Basic things -

I would rate this trail Moderate. There are a few off camber bits on Lockwood. A couple of rocky bits on Miller. Here's a stop motion video I made from when I ran the trail two years ago: http://youtu.be/axcBIW2BXqA . I ran this trail in my D1 with a 2" lift and 31" tires.

Have a good spare tire

Recovery gear to help get yourself unstuck.

A radio for truck to truck communication on the trail is always helpful. HAM, FRS, and CB are the usual suspects. I personally have 2M ham in the truck as well as a FRS radio.

If you want to eat before we head up miller, bring some food.

If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email. Should be a fun little run up the hill.
