This trip is to Coyote Flat area the weekend of August 25th through the 27th.
Day 1: Meet in the Vons parking lot in Bishop fueled and ready to go at 11:30 AM. We will have a short driver’s brief and depart promptly at 12:00 PM. Today’s route will be a direct drive to our campsite (37.22874, -118.49178). This is a primitive campsite. Our contingency campsite will be Funnel Lake (37,19994, -118.51027). Total distance for the day is 18 - 25 miles, or less. The balance of the day we will to setting up camp, relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
My recollection is that last year it took us three hours to get to Baker Creek, so it should be less to the primary campsite.
Day 2: Saturday will explore the areaa by driving to Green Lake via Coyote Lake and Lookout Mountain. Green Lake has a few hiking opportunties, but our exact itinerary for that day will be based on group size and interest. I would rate the trail moderate, but the hike is a challenge.
Day 3: Break camp at 9:00 AM, back to Bishop and then home.
