SCLR Moab Trip 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
We are nearly ready to come home but here is report so far. Three of us total, including new member Rob Broeren, and guest Trevor Myler from Edmonton Canada. Sunday on way into Moab, we did Bartlett Overlook, Bartlett Wash and Hidden Canyon Wash. Moderately challenging, but more to come. Monday, we did Seven Mile Loop with huge slickrock offcamber and steep descent and finished out with Tusher Tunnel.
Tuesday, we did incredible Kane Creek Canyon. Had to winch Trevor over gatekeeper as he has no rear locker on his RR Sport.
Wednesday, we started to do Fins and Things until Rob broke his left rear axle while trying to climb a huge rock obstacle. Tow to Glenwood Springs 200 miles away for repairs...hope to pick up his truck tomorrow. In meantime, he rented a J**P and we kept doing trails. That afternoon we did Klondike Trail that takes you to north end of Arches NP, and there were dinosaur tracks in the slickrock that we had to cross.
Today, we did Top of the World, with a spectacular breathtaking view at the end of the trail. Total Vertigo....
As I write this, Rob and Trevor are out finishing Fins and Things.

Once I figure out how to post some pics and videos, it will be done. Perfect weather, 70's to 80's.

Moab is definitely The Bomb when it comes to offroad...

Sounds like a great trip Jim. Can't wait to see some more pics and hear some of the stories. Looking forward to doing some trials with you.

By the way, your rod modification was just perfect for the trip. Drove out to Moab with factory, and it took only about 4 or 5 minutes per wheel to change to your mod rods. The extra clearance was so crucial on the rocky climbs, etc. and made it very easy. Switched back for trip home. For those interested in Greg's rod modification for LR3's and Sports, these work great. Trick is to get some silicone spray, not WD-40 and hit the rods first. I will be using them for RR-X and will be glad to have them.
